About the Performer Lola Odiaga, the Peruvian harpsichordist and fortepianist, studied piano at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, and at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg, and harpsichord at Yale University. She has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, and holds degrees from the Juilliard School, and Yale University. Among her teachers were Edward Steuermann, Stefan Askenase, and Ralph Kirkpatrick. In addition to a teaching career which has included the National Conservatory of Music in her native Lima, Wellesley College, the Hartt College of Music, and the Yale University School of Music, Miss Odiaga has concertized as soloist with orchestras, and in solo and chamber music recitals in the United States, as well as in Latin America both as pianist and as harpsichordist. Since 1983 she has been making public appearances as a fortepiano performer. |
