About the Performer

Born in Lausanne, Switzerland, Bernard Brauchli has studied in his home town, in Vienna, and in Boston, and specialized in early music performance on the clavichord with the eminent Hispanist Macario Santiago Kastner in Lisbon. He has earned an international reputation through his extensive performing and research on the clavichord, and ranks as one of the leading exponents in the revival of that instrument.

Bernard Brauchli is on the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and president of the Cambridge Society for Early Music. He is also founder and president of Festival Music Antica a Magnano in Italy.
