About the Performer Eugene Gratovich made his successful début in London's Wigmore Hall in 1974, followed by a performance at New York's Carnegie Recital Hall in 1976. He has since performed in many cities throughout the U.S., Europe, and South America. He has been a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the St. Louis Symphony. Educated in both the U.S. and in Europe, Gratovich earned his D.Mus.A. degree from Boston University in 1968. His written research was on the violin sonatas of Charles Ives. He received a Fulbright Grant for study in Cologne in 1966, and in 1973 was accepted by Jascha Heifetz into his master class in Los Angeles. He is currently on the music faculty at the University of Texas at Austin. |
