About the Performer

Anthony di Bonaventura has performed in 25 countries, in recital and with major orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, and the Royal Philharmonic. In October 1986, he gave the world premiere of György Ligeti's Concerto for Piano, written expressly for him, at the Graz Festival. Other composers who have written for Mr. di Bonaventura include Witold Lutoslawski, Alberto Ginastera, Vincent Persichetti, and Luciano Berio.

Mr. di Bonaventura has given master classes at major universities and colleges in the United States and elsewhere. He is currently chairman of the piano department at Boston University's School for the Arts.
