About the Performer

Luise Vosgerchian, Walter W. Naumburg Professor of Music, emerita, was a teacher and active contributor to the musical life at Harvard University for thirty-two years. In addition to the standard repertory, she has performed as soloist with orchestra in contemporary works of Stravinsky, Leon Kirchner, Roberto Gerhard, Bartok, and Karel Husa. She has toured the United States and Europe with chamber groups and in solo recitals.

Ms. Vosgerchian is a popular lecturer whose engagements have included the Stage-Door Lecture Series of the Boston Symphony Orchestra; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Harvard University Alumni Associations in the United States and Europe, and the Young Presidents Organization.
