Daniel Paul Horn
About the Performer
As a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist, Daniel Paul Horn performs throughout North America. He has given solo recitals at the American Liszt Society Festival and numerous colleges and universities. As a chamber musician, he frequently collaborates with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the Ying String Quartet, Guarneri Quartet violinist John Dalley, and noted singers. In addition he has been a soloist with several Midwestern orchestras, including the Detroit Symphony.
Horn studied at the Peabody Conservatory and later at Juilliard, earning his doctorate there in 1987. Martin Canin and Walter Hautzig were his principal teachers; he has also coached with Ann Schein, Jerome Lowenthal, and Menahem Pressler, for whom he has been a guest assistant at Indiana University. He is currently Associate Professor of Piano at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in Illinois, and has served as a faculty artist at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the Adamant Music School in Vermont.
